About Us

Thanks for coming around to hear about our story. It's a good one! It began with a promise too big to fill, the grace that came with accepting what couldn't happen, and a desire to turn a sad moment into a creative inspiration.
This story continues with YOUR story.

Our Story

I'm Christopher Hooker! I grew up in a small town in Florida. It was always a dream of mine to write films for a living, and after years of job uncertainty and poverty, I undertook a degree from the University of Manchester to become a Screenwriter.

While many of my colleagues went on to work for the BBC or ITV in various roles, my degree meant almost nothing in the United States and the burgeoning Atlanta 'East Hollywood' film scene, where producers don't even want to read scripts — they want to see films.

As my only films were silent, special-effects-driven projects shot on Super 8 in the 1980s, I didn't have a promising future ahead of me. So, I worked as a pizza deliveryman by day and did film set catering on the weekends, hoping to meet a producer interested in my work.

A correspondence with my first girlfriend led me to be a copywriter for her best friend's marketing firm, Rock Star Marketing in Monterey, California. At that time, they worked primarily with automobile repair firms, of which I knew nothing-- but my teacher at the Atlanta Film Society had taught me, when you don't know something, Google That Stuff! And I began to understand cars by talking to mechanics and asking them important questions about basic car care.

The copywriter position could not have come at a better time, as there were very few protections in place for delivery workers, who were given the green light to deliver to large areas. Being a copywriter meant working from home, which provided me with security and helped shield me against the pitfalls of COVID-19. (The dread disease did get me eventually, but that's another story.) I was taught social media strategy, search engine optimization,

As Jennifer Filzen's Rock Star Marketing staff began to transition, I suddenly became her only Copywriter. As she began to work with interns from California, Jennifer realized she was going to need full-time players to manage her portfolio. When Leonard and Brooke joined the team, the three became a tight unit that could finish each other's sentences-- and the work we had.

Unfortunately, the climate changed. Jennifer was unable to bring in enough new leads to keep the team between her copywriters and her sales hires, so I was let go, with my longtime client, Creekside Kids, going with me. Since then, I have been working exclusively for Creekside Kids, and tried my hand at teaching, paraprofessional work, and even became a Behavioral Therapist.

A recent moment compelled me to start my own marketing firm, one that helps out beginning businesses that are just trying to get on the map, instead of high-volume customers who need a full dock of products and services

(such as dramatic website revamps, everyday social media presence, multiple blogs, and video production).

While I dabble in all of these things, bigger firms are better suited to handle that high volume of work.

Whereas I can offer a website rewrite with Search Engine Optimization and custom-tailor it to my client's style and needs, and get your business noticed and started on an easy-to-pay, gentle footing.
